Construction and Furnishing of a Multipurpose Hall for Culture and the Arts

“St. Joseph Cultural Center”

Introduction

This proposal aims to establish a multipurpose hall in Taybeh, Palestine, with a surface area of 150–200 square meters and a capacity of approximately 80 people. The hall will include a small stage, a modern audio and lighting system, and suitable acoustics.

This space will become a vibrant community center, hosting concerts, traditional dances such as dabke, book presentations, cultural seminars, local artistic activities, and spiritual and religious formation meetings.

Objectives

  • Provide a dedicated space for musical and artistic performances.

  • Offer an appropriate area for courses in spiritual and Christian formation.

  • Promote traditional Palestinian arts such as dabke.

  • Host cultural conferences, seminars, and literary events.

  • Strengthen the role of culture and art in the community life of Taybeh.

The Importance of Taybeh

Taybeh, known for its deep history of faith and rich cultural heritage, is in need of a modern and accessible hall that can become a lively center for artistic and cultural activities.

This project will help to:

  • Preserve local traditions and pass them on to the next generations.

  • Create opportunities to develop the talents of children and young people, encouraging and spreading music within the community.

  • Strengthen Palestinian cultural identity and promote Taybeh as a center for cultural activities in the region.

The project will also involve local companies and unemployed workers during the construction and furnishing phases. In this way, it will create short-term job opportunities and stimulate the local economy of Taybeh. The work will be coordinated by the St. Joseph Cultural Center of Taybeh, ensuring that the project brings direct benefits to the community from the very beginning.
